iXBRL signatures for annual reports
Financial statements with a balance sheet date of 1 January 2025 or later must be filed with the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) in Inline XBRL (iXBRL). With NextSign you collect legally valid signatures directly on the iXBRL file itself – the recognised accounting document that is actually filed – not just on a PDF copy.

Frequently asked questions about iXBRL signing
Yes. An iXBRL annual report that is signed digitally and sealed with a qualified signature is a valid, documentable accounting document. NextSign seals the file with a XAdES signature and a full audit trail, so its authenticity can always be verified.
iXBRL (Inline XBRL) is a format where the annual report is both human-readable (shown like a PDF) and machine-readable. Financial statements with a balance sheet date of 1 January 2025 or later can only be filed with the Danish Business Authority in iXBRL – the XBRL and PDF formats are being phased out.
Upload the iXBRL file to NextSign, add the people who need to sign, and send. Each signer confirms with MitID, after which NextSign applies a legally valid signature and seals the file – without altering the reported figures.
Yes. The signature is placed so the iXBRL file remains well-formed and can be filed with Erhvervsstyrelsen. Both the visual report and the machine-readable XBRL data are unchanged and protected against later edits.
